Made it out to the rebuilt Pelican bar after the the hurricane swept it out to sea. Years of memories of so many people's memories bringing license plates and special things to hang up & getting their loved ones names carved in the wood. I talked to Floyd the owner and he told me that they went out by Boat and picked up the panels that were on the sand that washed up to shore to rebuild took two months. This is a special destination spot where people get to hang out, relax ,eat swim, play dominoes, listen to reggae music out in the middle of the ocean! Treasure beach is so special it's been two years since I've been back. It was heartbreaking to see the devastation while driving through the mountains and Parishes. Spirits are still strong and rebuilding is underway. Community efforts and support are still ongoing. Beautiful soulful & healing henna connections at Dempsey Center today. A day of healing and adornment I met so many empowering women. An Author & healer, a Harley motorcycle rider & dreaming of hot air balloon rides. A woman who loved going to India for a wedding and had henna done in Mumbai. I noticed she had a tattoo of Puerto Rican Coqui frog and she had lived in Puerto Rico for a month volunteering. A super mom of 10 kids Who is an Adoptive mom & her daughter is a Tattoo Artist! My last client happened to be my Tattoo Client, who shared with me how upset she was after her surgery was crooked, but the doctors convinced her that it would heal up and go back to normal and it did so she was happy to come to see me to get Henna around her scars. ❤️ #healing #henna #theeyeofhenna #cancersurvivors #empowerment

My client had a pre-existing Tattoo that she recently received but was not in love with it. She had wanted a more feminine and delicate design. The bold thick lines were also done too deep and she had some tattoo blowout. She loved the details I created to soften the look and feel. She was so happy with and said now she can wear short sleeves and feel comfortable. I have had this conversation for the past few weeks from my studio about the ideas of what Male Tattoo Artists think of as feminine opposed to female tattoo artist. Though beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I do feel that women creating art on women's bodies can be a transformative experience we see the body differently. She also asked me what I thought the percentage of female Tattoo Artists are in the world opposed to men... I wish I had a true consensus of the percentage across the globe. The first tattoo female Tattoo Artist was in 1907. In the past 20 years in my area, I know that the number of female tattoo artists has grown tremendously. Opposed to Portland in 1990s when I knew there was only three women tattooing in the State! In short period of time I know that as multiplied, and hopefully it continued to grow and diversify across the world. After 10 years of tattooing in my studio when I ever ask, have you been tattooed by a female before 95% of them say no so going to a female artist I feel can be a true revolution. ❤️ #inked #tattooed #transformation #femaletattooartist #womeninink

A beautiful & empowering day fill with healing waves of emotion Dempsey Center in Lewiston. I spent the afternoon with these incredible women, listening to their stories and their incredible mountains that they're climbing fighting their cancer their countless surgeries, their diligence and perseverance. There were tears there was Joy ,singing and decorating creating crowns celebrating motherhood, and all of the beauty within. This is my 15th year honoring women at the @dempsey_center. I am grateful to share time and to be a little bit part of their healing journey. 🙏🏽❤️ This is especially important to me as one of my family members was currently diagnosed this winter and has been going through treatments . A magnificent magical Hindu temple in the middle of New Jersey!!! Who would've thought it was like stepping into India! This temple was built from 2017 and just was finished two years ago! It is the largest marble dome in the world! The carvings of the deities and Hindu gods were just so masterful . The golden statue dedicated of the Hindu boy Nulkanth Varni at age 10 who stood on one leg for two months and then traveled 9000 miles on spiritual pilgrimage spread spreading vedic knowledge of enlightenment. 🙏🏽❤️ #baps #hindutemple #divine #explore #reelsinstagram
