THe EYE OF HENNA
THe EYE OF HENNA
The designs (for me) are very free flowing. They kind of just "come out" and I never question them, I just do them. You kind of get lost in it and that's half of it-just allowing yourself to escape into letting yourself create..I think that's the nature of it-if you're keyed in-it's a space, and you're allowing yourself into that space, and that's kind of what it's about...it's just passing through you...
Where do you get your designs?
Sometimes I look at other designs to get ideas, but I don't do them exactly...there are typical designs that are done for weddings, that use the peacock as a sign for passion and love, kind of like a spiritual eye looking upon everything...mangos, flower shapes, the lotus, very feminine shapes...Sometimes they'll write the name of their lover, their husband to be , within the henna design to symbolize their love and connection with that person....(traditionally...)
